Mini Holiday

The past week or so has been pretty busy for me, not to mention expensive! First, I had Brooke and Saito-Sensei over to my place for Christmas. They turned up around 2.00pm with food and we had a lovely lunch, and watched Elf (the movie). It was about 7.00pm by then, and I think we were all quite tired but decided to go to karaoke anyway! We ended up being there for around three hours. This was the second day of my cold, so my throat was a little sore by the end. The next day I had school and was feeling still a bit sick. The day after that was my last day of school  until the 10th next year. It was only a half day, but I was there until 4.00pm anyway. At 4.00pm I boarded a bus to Kaida with the other teachers for the end of year party - bounenkai. I had to buy a present; only 500 yen, but still, it added up to the price of the dinner - 6,500 yen!!! I ended up drinking far too much, was on the phone to Dede quite a bit as well, but it was a lot of fun. Afterwards some of us conti...

Drums

So recently, when Dede was still here in Kiso, we went for a trip to Matsumoto for shopping. We finally came upon a music store, where I think we were hoping to find a cheap guitar for him so he isn't out of practice. They had some electronic drum kits on the floor, and everyone was trying them out. I had a go after Dede was constantly coaxing me to; I've never liked playing in front of anyone before,  and especially now that I haven't played for a few years. But this kit was amazing, and to my surprise I found that I've still got it! The good thing about an electronic drum kit is that it can be almost completely silent to those around you, if you want. Plus, it never goes out of tune. My old drum kit is so out of tune I don't think it will ever sound good again...if it ever did. So now I want one. Of course, these are incredibly expensive, if you want it to sound authentic. On one hand, I don't want one because of the price and I could buy so many other lovel...

Dede's Visit

Well Christmas will be here in a few days, but it's really not feeling like it. Dede left yesterday, and I was quite upset. I'm fine now, just a little lonely. I don't know what to do with myself again! I cleaned today, started thinking about what I should cook/buy for the Christmas get-together I'm having. It's also freezing, and will continue to get colder. I used to complain about Hobart weather, but now I actually miss it. I remember I could still wear a dress and stockings and be warm enough. Here, I would not even dare! Near my house My birthday Kaida ice-cream Tofu - from my birthday (delicious!) At Kaida Near my house Dish from Masa's bounenkai - end of year party Karaoke at 'Adult' - bar completely decked out in red velvet. After Masa's bounenkai (and we had work the next day...) Bounenkai Bounenkai My birthday - (left to right) Nozomi, Yuka, Me, Yui and Brooke Kaida ice cream...

Same Old Story.

I'm so behind on the blogging thing. Since Dede arrived on the 18th of November, we've been running around Nagano-ken, sightseeing and such. I've pretty much taken him to places I've already been to, but this time, thanks to his camera, I have much nicer photos to show! Cute, cute doggies at a pet shop we came across :) We walked back past at night, and they were covered with a cardboard box; they must be so cold! Pretty little girl. She was dressed up for shichi-go-san, although it was a little late. I saw her mother later on hitting her over the head :s Cute, really old bookstore. Matsumoto Castle; this time I got to go in! My favourite shot that Dede made of the castle; so beautiful! But it took time too; I was freezing sitting out on the pavement! Funny shop that doesn't use racks, only mannequins! There are many more photos,...
